SungYoon PNP, expanding licensing business

PNP, a brand licensing & management agency, is expanding its business.

As the introduction of platform licenses based on sports, art, and culture increases, brand portfolios are diversified, and new partner companies such as street casual and lifestyle companies are also increasing.

First of all, PNP secured the right to develop licenses for the legendary skateboarder, Tony Hawk, in the first half of this year.

Tony Hawk won more than 100 competitions at the age of 25, and performed at the Tokyo Olympics this year to commemorate the adoption of the official skateboard event.

In addition, he established the Birdhouse Project, a skateboard company, and was appointed the Ambassador of Vans in street fashion. Currently, Tony Hawk brand is being licensed in the U.S, Canada, and North America, Europe, and Asia.

At the same time as it was introduced in Korea, PNP signed a license agreement for the fashion categories with Barrels, which has succeeded in street casual brands such as Covernat, Mark Gonzales, and Lee. This is the second license agreement with PNP following 'Lee'.

PNP also introduced the National Gallery in the licensing market. The National Gallery is a national museum founded in London, England in 1824, and houses about 2,300 masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Vicent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissaro and other famous painters.

Its strength is that it is particularly open to developing various categories and merchandising. License partners can utilize lots of masterpieces of the National Gallery for marketing and design.

In addition to product development, various marketing collaborations such as exhibitions, events, and F&B are also possible.

A managing director of PNP, Sandra Lee, said "Most of the works of the National Gallery are donated for the public interest. Therefore, it is more generous to use IP. NG is currently carrying out licensing businesses in Europe and China and has collaborated with foreign fashion brands such as Miss Sixty".

PNP also started distribution and licensing business in China. They recently formed a business partnership with UTG, a Chinese distributor of Jeep, and plan to support domestic fashion brands who want to enter the China market. Additionally, they will strengthen support such as planning, sales, and management through local alliances in China and India for their licensees to enter the overseas market.
